Yes, a service dog may also participate in dog sports when the dog and handler meet the event's rules. Service-dog work and competition are different roles; one does not automatically prohibit the other.
Check the sport's eligibility, registration and entry requirements with its governing organization. Ask about accommodations the handler needs before entering. The AKC describes handlers with disabilities, including service-dog partners, participating in its sports.
Choose an activity suited to your dog's health, comfort and interests. Plan rest and backup support so participation does not interfere with the handler's disability-related needs. Seek veterinary advice before physically demanding activities when the dog's suitability is uncertain.
A competition title does not create ADA service-dog status or replace individual task training.
